increase your income now: 30 steps to making money on the internet

Step1: Take stock of what you have to offer. If you are a writer, programmer, designer, or photographer, there are oodles of opportunities for you. If you have a speciality of any sort -- carpentry, raising kids, planning vacations or weddings, playing Guitar Hero 3 -- you can get paid for your expertise. Even if you think all you can offer is time, there are opportunities for you as well.

Step2: Scan the steps below. Pick the one that seems the best fit, and start exploring.

Step3: Freelance Work (sometimes called "personal outsourcing"). If you have a skill to offer, check out the various freelance sites like http://elance.com/and http://guru.com/ (see the Resources, below). You can post your skills at these sites, so potential customers can check you out, and you can also look around for freelance projects that others have posted.

Step4: There are tons of opportunities for freelancers, in very varied fields. Common projects, though, are writing, computer or design work -- creating web pages, programming, writing brochures or reports, illustration and photography, and so on. Pay can be pretty good, especially after you've earned a quality rating at one or more of the freelancing sites.Take a look at the "How Elance Works" video on their main page to get a quick overview.

Step5: Writing. There are a number of ways to take your skill as a writer and turn it into cash (links are in Resources, below).One of them is eHow. Write brief "How to" articles on any topic of your choosing, and get paid for the article. The more popular the article, the more income you can expect. A good article will bring in $50 per year or more. Write 10 articles, and that's $500. A hundred articles...you get the picture.

Step6: More writing. (a) At SoftwareJudge.com, write reviews of select software products...top reviews earn up to $50 each. (b) Product Reviews. You may be familiar with epinions.com, but did you know they pay cash for good quality reviews. You won't get rich, but you can get started. (c) Suggest domain names according to site descriptions at Pickydomains.com Get $25 for each name that is chosen. (d) At Xomba.com, write anything you feel like, and collect 50% of any advertising income from Adsense clicks on your page.

Step7: Research/Question and Answer (Q&A) Sites. I earn much of my income as an online researcher, answering folks questions on everything under the sun: investments, market research, divorce law, homework help...you name it. If this sounds like your cup of tea, take a look at the resources in the next step.

Step8: (a) The Association of Independent Information Professionals (aiip.org) can help you build you own Q&A website and business. (b) I work with Uclue.com Though they are not accepting new researchers right now, it's worth a look to see how a well-developed Q&A site works.(c) Another Q&A site is JustAnswer, and they offer small payments for answers to questions.

Step9: Use (or build) your own blog or website to make money online. The key is to generate as much traffic as you can, and to have your visitors click on ads and affiliate links. The more people visiting your site, clicking on ads, and buying affiliate products, the more income you can earn. As good as this sounds, income is generally more a trickle than a flood. But again, steadily building your site (or sites), and building traffic, is the key to generating a steadily growing stream of income. The resources in the next step can help get you started.

Step10: The best resources I know of for ads and affiliates are: (a) Google AdSense (b) AssociatePrograms.com (c) Commission Junction. Also, at Orble.com, you can take ownership of an abandoned blog with a specific focus, like Film, or Travel, and collect a portion of the ad revenues. The advantage of this is that the blog is already well-represented in search engines, and can often generate much more traffic than a new blog of your own. See Orble under the Resource links, below, for more information.

Step11: Photography...At http://istockphoto.com/you can upload still photos or videos for sale, and receive a small royalty payment every time someone makes use of your content.

Step12: Surveys. CashCrate.com makes it possible to get paid to take online surveys. They strike me as legitimate, but I confess, I don't have any first-hand experience with it, so approach with caution... SurveyScout.com is another possibility, but unlike CashCrate, they charge a membership fee before you can get started (Boo!). I've also heard some negative feedback from users of this site, so proceed with caution (if you proceed at all!).

Step13: Teaching/Tutoring. Search on [ Online tutoring ] and you'll uncover dozens of sites in this booming corner of the internet. Many accept applications for online tutors, with variable rates and topic areas. Two to consider are http://tutor.com/and ehomeworkhelp.com .

Step14: Online "Jury Duty". Here's an odd one. Lawyers looking for feedback on how a case will play before a jury use online e-jury sites to solicit input from the type of average citizens that show up on juries. Yes, you get paid. Fees for complex cases can run over $50, though $20 is more typical. To serve as an online juror, check out onlineverdict.com, or trialpractice.com . UPDATE: I've heard from some users that at least one online jury duty site has no real actual work to offer, so use these services with eyes wide open!

Step15: Virtual office assistant. At TeamDoubleClick, you can sign on for temporary jobs as an office assistant, handling correspondence, emails, bookkeeping, data entry, and other office jobs. Think of it as an online temp agency for virtual work. Pay is varied, but you are not obliged to take jobs that don't meet your financial needs.

Step16: Moola.com This is the strangest one yet, and I can't personally vouch for it (I've only tinkered with the site), but it looks legitimate. Moola starts you off by giving you a penny, which you can then double, and double again, through a variety of games and activities. Presumably, they make oodles of money through ads, and are willing to through some of it your way by participating in their zany set of games and marketing gimmicks. They call themselves a "Massively Multiplayer Rewards Game". It's too complicated to explain here, but worth a look.

Step17: Crowdsource design. "Crowdsourcing" is the buzzword for getting a lot of people to do your work for you. If you're good at designing things like t-shirts, logos, fancy fonts, and other graphics, take a look at the challenges at 99designs.com and threadless.com, where you can collect hundreds of dollars if your design is chosen.

Step18: Blogging. How does $100 a month sound for writing a few blog posts every week? That's what you can be paid (actual range is $84-140) if you get accepted as a blogger at Creative Weblogging. They are a large blog network, and seem to have mastered the art of monetizing their many sites. All they need are people to write them, and keep the content fresh.

Step19: Blogging, photos, video, you name it. Flixya offers 100% of ad revenue to anyone who posts at their website (you need to have your own Google Adsense account to participate). Words, pictures, videos, whatever ya got. Post it, bring in some traffic, and collect some ad clicks. (Haven't tried it yet myself, but flixya has a good reputation).

Step20: Thanks to commenter bseidel for pointing out good links to micro stock photography sites, where you can upload photographs, and get paid for every one purchased from the site. A good starting site is BNPS, where photographers get about 50% of the purchase price of every photo sold.

Step21: Another site that pays for content is mylot.com (in fact, they promise earnings everytime you use the site!). Haven't given them a test run yet, so if you have experience with them, please post a comment, below.

Step22: At slicethepie.com, you can get paid for listening to music. Say what!!! Yep, listen to upcoming artists, and review their music. The more reviews you write -- and the better you are at spotting new talent -- the more you can get paid. Some folks are pulling in several dollars per review.

Step23: If you have good typing skills, consider Speak-Write.com, an online dictation service.

Step24: You can participate in online focus groups, where you review a product you've used, or discuss an issue of interest to you. Payment ranges from about $50-150 per session. Participants are typically asked to join a group once or twice a year.

Step25: Woo Hoo! Google Knol is live. This online encylopedia-like site is a place where anyone can contribute content, and you can place Adsense ads on your article to generate revenue. Though a pretty new site, it's Google, and likely to generate a lot of traffic. Which means a good opportunity for advertising income.

Step26: Website review. You can get paid for reviewing websites. Usertesting.com pays $10 per website review. It's not open-ended...you have to be selected to test, based on your demographic profile.

Step27: Ready for this? You can earn money reading emails! Of course, there are ads involved, and you might be asked to click a few things, but it's not difficult. Expect to get 5-10 emails a day (more, if you register multiple email addresses), and earn a few pennies per email.

Step28: Little bit of everything. Genuinejobs.com is a legitimate work-at-home site that lists hundreds of jobs, none of which require a fee, and many of which can be done online. Registration is simple...worth checking out.

Step29: Write for the NY Times. Really! The Times owns two sites that regularly hire writers. ConsumerSearch.com uses freelance writers to create detailed reviews of common consumer products...minimum pay is $350 per write-up, and they do a lot of hiring. http://about.com/ , another Times property, hires writers as guides. These positions, paying $725/month or more, are tougher to get, but worth looking into.

Step30: If you can write pretty good articles, then write on a topic of your choosing and submit to article submission website like ehow.com, articlecity.com . I must say, I've found no better site than ehow.com for earning income online. In the six months or so since I first posted this article, (I'm up to about $1,000 a month!). At present, it's only available to residents in the US, but if that's you, give it a try.

ways to earn money from your blog

If you are a blogging, or are considering starting a blog, there is a good chance that making money is the reason you do it. Blogs can be a great way to generate income on the internet, and it doesn't matter if you are a total internet marketing beginner or a seasoned pro. Anyone can get started with blogging and earn a great income online. Here are my 3 favorite ways to earn money from blogs.
AdSense
Google AdSense is definitely the easiest way to earn money from a blog. All you do is sign up, place the AdSense code on your blog, and Google will automatically display ads which are relevant to the content of your blog. Whenever a visitor clicks on one of the ads, you earn a percentage of the money that the advertiser paid for that click. Depending on the niche your blog is in, you could earn anywhere from a few cents per click, to well over $1 per click in some highly lucrative niches. Easy peasy, right? Actually it is! Especially if you are one who posts a lot of content on your blogs. The reason for that is the more content you have the more traffic you will get, and the more traffic you have the more cash you can make. So the faster you can get a lot of traffic to your blog the faster you will start earning. The great thing is you can just continue talking about the subjects you love.
Affiliate Products
Recommending affiliate products is another great way to earn money from your blog. You can sign up to an affiliate network such as Clickbank.com and browse their marketplace for products that are relevant to your blog. Once you've found a good product to promote, you can place a link to that product on the sidebar of your blog, or even within posts.
Another thing you can do is you can become an affiliate of a product and you can place a link on your blog. If someone comes along and clicks on the link and they buy the item you will earn a commission. For example, you can become an affiliate of Amazon.com and place links to products from that site on your blog.
List Building
Over the long term, the most profitable way to make money from your blog is to build an email list which you can market to. You can get your readers to sign up for a newsletter, or offer them a free gift for signing up, such as a free report. Once they have given you their name and email address, you then have permission to market to them until they tell you to stop (by clicking the unsubscribe link in an email).

Learn How to Make REAL CASH ON THE INTERNET

How to Make REAL CASH ON THE INTERNET!!!
Okay, We've all heard that you can make money on the internet. We've also heard that it's all just one big scam. Well here is the list ladies and gentlemen of tried and true money making websites to help you supplement your income using the internet.
Step1: First and for most, sign up for the writers compensation program here at http://ehow.com/ Seriously do it, right now. http://ehow.com/ has the top pay for articles that I have come across so far, so don't miss out on this one.
Step2: Writing for pay can be fun and rewarding. All you need is a little creativity and a spell check. eHow certainly takes the cake on this one because they pay better than the others. However, there are two other sites that pay for your original writing and content and can be used to supplement your internet income. http://triond.com/pays for both original writing and content, like pictures, music and videos. The pay is based on the amount of views your content gets, so be ready to share your work with family and friends. For me the amounts have been small but don't let that stop you, I only posted 4 original works. If you can come up with more and give your work some half hearted promotion you can make a killing. And as I said everything in this article is tried and true. I have received payment from http://triond.com/every month in my PayPal account for the last 8 months. Like eHow, your work continually earns you cash.
Step3: Selling! You've heard about Ebay, now why haven't you tried it yet? Ebay has got to be one of the most popular auctioning sites and I can promise you what is one person's junk, really is another's treasure. Be creative, look around your house, what is just taking up space? Have a stack of books you never read and probably never will? What about old fashion magazines? Old jewelry some ex gave you that you have banished into the back of your jewelry box? We are a nation of hoarders, we buy things because they are on sale or cheap, whatever you have, some one else somewhere wants it. eBay is free to join and PayPal accounts are free to get as well. eBay makes selling so easy. You photograph and list your item as an auction or a "buy it now" item and just watch the cash roll in while your junk rolls out. You can even print your shipping labels right off of your PayPal account and have your mail carrier pick up the package from your house!
Step4: Be open to new money making ideas and get creative. You'd be surprised how many people make hundreds of dollars in extra cash every month just from being a little creative. Don't you want to join us? Using all of these sites should be the start of a beautiful money making relationship with the internet. Use you head, there is no limit to how much you can make!

Ways to make real cash on the internet

Ways to make money on the Internet.
I'm talking small, but real money to start with - not the ' $1000+ in a week ' scams.
First, you need some 'tools'.
A dedicated credit card for the Internet. more...Open FREE Internet banking accounts to receive payment. more...Disposable email addresses. more... An 'always online' connection to the Internet. more...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Second, programs where you need to invest some money.The risk is greater but the rewards can be huge!
High yield investment programs (HYIP) return high yields on your investment but are also high risk and of limited duration. Get in early with a sum you can afford to loose and earn 20% daily for a few days or 2% daily for a few weeks/months. Most use 'e-currency' so you will need to open free accounts here... To help in deciding which programs to invest in and when to pull out I have kept the statistics of several current sites and also of sites that have closed. This is a very volatile market but can be very profitable and exciting.
No HYIP sites to recommend at present.
Playing the Foreign Exchange markets. A very volatile area where returns can be huge. More details on another page here ...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Third, programs where you earn money but are free to join.Trickle income, like these sites below, build up a bank balance, give you confidence and earn you some funds to invest in HYIP or other programs that require you to deposit money first.
Clixn'Cash has a payout as low as $0.25 and you can earn about 4c the first visit!. (you must have a free AlertPay or PayPal account to join) so get paid quickly to see how the Bux PTC (pay to click) programs work.Bookmark your log-in page and check your account several times daily for ads to click on. You can upgrade your account by purchasing referrals. Wait for the ad to load and then watch the 10 second timer count down. If you open two ads at the same time you will be paid for none of them. Be fair to the advertisers. You can earn about 5c to 20c daily from one Bux site - if you join 10 similar Bux sites you can earn $1 a day in 30 minutes even without buying referrals!The following Bux sites follow the same theme but have $2 to $10 minimum payouts:- Neobux (proof), BuxP (proof) . Remember to bookmark this page and all the sites you join to make it easier to return daily.
MyLot is a great program for people who like to chat and earn a few dollars a day at the same time! The range of subjects is enormous and from all over the world. Upload pictures from your computer, list your passions and other features. But beware - this program can become infectious!! Payment is by PayPal so you will need to get a free PayPal account . I have been paid 18 times by MyLot - here is June and July .
MakeMoneyKingdom is a forum dealing with the subject of earning online. You earn the equivalent of $0.03 a post with a maximum of 20 posts a day. But the real reason for joining is for the wealth of information and support to be had from other people. When you join, read the four 'sticky' topics in the Help & Support section which will explain the rules and how to earn. After that try the Pay to Click section, or the hot Mylot or Neobux threads to make a post yourself and earn up to 60 cents today. This site is for serious earners who will use the forum and not for spammers. Pays over $10 minimum to PayPal and easily reached each month with 10 or 12 good quality posts a day. Proof of payment.... .
Bukisa will pay you for submitting short articles on a wide variety of subjects. This site is aimed at the more knowledgeable surfer who has the expertise to pass on their experience in good English. Pay is based on 1000 views of your articles at a rate that varies with the site income. At the moment this is between $3 and $4 CPM. Payout minimum is $50. Here is a tutorial on how to submit content and here is an example of an article on web site stats.
GetPaidTo join programs! Sign up for any of the 1550 free cash offers available and get paid instantly through Paypal. For instance, join Ebay and get $7 (so long as you are not already a member). Low minimum payout of $0.50 which you can earn in minutes with a daily survey. Free to join. Open only to USA, Canada and UK residents, like a lot of these GPT programs. Most offers are free but some require a purchase which are clearly marked. Please be truthful when joining and giving information and best to use a dedicated email address as you will get many replies.Go here to see the payment process and proof of payment to my PayPal accountAnd here are some tips on how to do offers and set up your PC to earn with GPT programs.
PayByOffers is a new site from the same stable as GetPaidTo above but is open to members from many more countries and they are adding new countries all the time. You can earn money and win prizes here very quickly as well. Screengrab of my requst for payment - 37 minutes later it is in my Paypal account!
BlueBayptr is a great PTS ( paid to search ), PTC ( paid to click ) PTJ (paid to join or sign up) and PTR ( paid to read ) program and, unlike some, has a low payout threshold of $2. This amount can be quickly reached by joining other programs from the Paid to Signup section, searching on links in your Inbox and clicking on banners in the Paid to Click area. I earn about $7 a month on my own searches. Payment is by PayPal so you will need to get a free PayPal account. If you don't do proper searches (see below) then you will not be sent many paid links.
Here is a tutorial on how to make a valid search . It will take longer than the 40 seconds shown to finish loading three pages but if the advertiser doesn't get paid, you wont get the links in the future.
Rpoints is aimed at UK/Euro surfers comparing prices of goods.An example of how Rpoints worked to save me 36% off my UK car insurance is here... This shows that you can save money and make money using Rpoints. I also received £20 (2,000 points) cashback for opening an Egg credit card. It really works!.You can buy almost anything at the best retail price and then get an added discount with Rpoints. Go to 'easy money' then 'recurring' where comparing prices with Kelkoo and others earns about 2p to 6p a click up to a max of about £1 a day. Rpoints are ultra-cautious about awarding points. They take days to check, then credit, your points and then a month or more to validate them before you can cash in. A good forum explains all this. But, once the ball is rolling and you're clicking every day, the cash rolls into PayPal at £5 minimum a time and in £sterling too so you can have dollar and sterling PayPal accounts to save on exchange rates.
Higher Payouts from 'free to join' programs.
Normally I avoid very high payout programs where it sometimes takes a year to reach the minimum by which time the site may have vanished!
You WILL get paid with these programs; about $35 to $50 a month for just these programs and there are dozens more to choose from. Join up, add to your favourites or put an icon on your desktop by dragging on a links page for each program and visit the sites at intervals through the day and earn a bit each time. It soon adds up.
I can get you referrals. Contact me for details on how its done.
TIPS -
1. Right click on the log-in page for each program and save a shortcut link to your desktop, or, Add to your Favourites in a new folder, named Daily, for instance. Much easier to remember your daily earning sites by double clicking on the icons or links.
2. Write the address and log-in details for each site in the back of your diary. It is easy to forget your user name and password and you can continue to earn money on another pc when away from home.
3. Get into the habit of regular visits. Most sites will cancel your account if you don't make use of it and any money earned will be lost.
4. Contact me if you need help or advice.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fourth, make a web site of your own and get advertisers on it.The final group of earning programs can be placed on your own web site. First you need a website with content interesting enough to attract visitors. Think of a subject that you know a lot about - you, your family, your job, your hobby - whatever it is, focus on it and provide detailed information; facts, figures. Try to make your web site the definitive source of information on your chosen subject.
With a web site designed you need a domain name and a hosting service. It is like an address to the house where your web site lives. I use Easily to buy my domain names and Cirtex to host them, both companies give excellent service and support.
Promote your website using the points earned from working the PTS, PTR and PTC you joined above in section three and to get referrals to sign up under you.
Once you have a web site with solid content you have a 'product' to sell. Many of the top programs will not accept you as an affiliate unless you have a web site of substance.
The star payer is Google AdSense. They pay for clicks and pay very well and cleverly match their ads to the content of your page. They are choosey about the sites that can join and demand a reasonable standard of content.
window.google_render_ad();
here. If you have a busy website you will earn good money with AdSense.
A good affiliate scheme is
var uri = 'http://impgb.tradedoubler.com/imp/js/1447/232351?' + new String (Math.random()).substring (2, 11);
document.write('');
TradeDoubler . where you can join up for free to any of dozens of schemes under one 'roof' . All affiliate schemes have a minimum payout limit of around $50 so grouping schemes together as with
var uri = 'http://impgb.tradedoubler.com/imp/js/1447/232351?' + new String (Math.random()).substring (2, 11);
document.write('');
TradeDoubler . [aimed at European web sites] and Commission Junction [aimed at North America but covering the world] means that you can get a cheque earlier.
Lots of companies would love you to join them as an affiliate and will pay you a commission when your visitors buy some of their products. It makes sense to join up with companies compatible with your site. Amazon sell a lot more than just books now and pay 5% to 7.5% commission by targeting specific goods with a link from your site.Bravenet has a lot of free goodies to add to your web site to attract more visitors and can help in setting up and hosting a web site with a free domain name. They also offer 50mb of free space on their servers to store your password protected back-up files and sensitive data. A well respected site of long standing.. Banner advertisements, love 'em or hate 'em, are part of the Net. Place these standard sized banners from AdBrite on your page and earn up to $1/1000 impressions depending on validity of visitor. Note that these are impressions or CPM rates, your visitor just has to see them, they do not have to click on the ads or buy anything. That is why the rates are lower than ' pay per click ' banners. AdBrite pay out monthly by cheque for earnings over $50 and pay me regularly.Another site paying $1 to $2/1000 banner impressions is Bux-O-Rama.
A large variety of banner and button sizes are available from Oxado and they pay well for clicks. Join up, get your site approved and then get your banner code to put on your web site to start earning. Depending where you live in the world you will be paid by wire, cheque or Paypal.
Pop-under windows are better selling tools than banners and PopupTraffic.com will pay you up to $1.80/1000 impressions. This is the best you will get on the net and they pay monthly without fail. Popup killer browsers have changed the market so they only supply pop-unders but with anti-killer code that works with the major browsers. A busy site will still earn more than the $25 minimum for a cheque to be sent each month. They are now open to international affilliates and pop-under earnings.
Remember, these are all free to join; you have no outgoings other than your normal internet connection which you have anyway. To be perfectly frank, the only downside to these deals is that it takes up your time to organise the links, and your browser and/or web site will run a bit slower while advertising banners load.
Earning with Google Adsense Program
What is AdSense?
Google.com earns most of its revenue by allowing other website owners to advertise on their search result pages. All this is managed through a program they call AdWords.
Now you can earn a share of the revenue that Google earns from AdWords by displaying these same text ads on your site. In other words, you're helping Google advertise and they pay you a percentage of what they earn.
This program is called AdSense.
Every website owner should at least consider the program. Even if your site is just for information purposes, you can still participate and make decent money with AdSense -- or at least enough to fund your website.
So if you are one of those people that don't like the idea of paying for a site, this is an excellent way to earn your money back and then some.
How AdSense Works
If you understand how AdSense works, you will see that it's a win-win situation for everyone involved, and the bottom line benefits Google. Let me explain...
Since the advertiser's ads are now being displayed on more web sites all over the internet (instead of just Google's site), they are getting much more exposure. More exposure means more clicks and even more traffic for their site over a shorter period of time.
This is good news for Google because the more traffic the advertisers receive, the faster their advertising funds are used up.
Remember, they get charged every time their site gets a visit; and of course, it is Google's hope that they'll continue to keep funneling more money into their account for more ad exposure.
What an ingenious way for Google to increase the amount of money they earn from advertisers while building loyalty with website owners (like us) who are now getting paid to help them advertise.
Of course, I'd expect nothing less from the most popular search engine on the web
"How Much Can I Earn With AdSense?"
Google does not disclose exactly how much you'll earn per ad that is clicked.
The commission you receive per click depends on how much advertisers are paying Google for the particular ad. You will earn a share of that amount. I've heard of earnings anywhere from 2 cents to $15 per click.
So it is logical to believe that keyword phrases like debt free, employment, make money, mp3, sex, etc. will earn you more per click since these are highly competitive keywords that are searched for quite a bit on the web.
Advertisers generally pay more for popular terms because they are searched for more.
Even though Google will not reveal how much you are earning for each ad that is clicked from your site, you can still login to your account at any time and see the total amount of revenue you've generated that day, week, month, year, etc.
For example, if you see that you've made $12.60 today from 9 clicks then you can calculate that your average click-thru commission was $1.40 per click. That's as detailed as their stats will get. Also remember, that's only an average. You won't know how much each specific ad brought in.
The amount you'll earn also depends largely on the amount of targeted traffic you receive to your own site, how well the ads match your audience's interests, the placement of the ads on your pages, and of course the amount you receive per click.
Ideally, you should create a site on a topic you know a lot about. That way you'll have a much easier time creating a generous amount of content on that subject.
Why I Believe AdSense Works So Well
For years, website owners have tried to make money from their sites by putting up banner ads in hopes of visitors clicking them. The problem with banner ads is that the Internet audience is so immune to them, people do not click on them anymore.
When's the last time you clicked a banner ad?
...Exactly!
Second, in order for the web site owner to earn money from that banner ad, usually the web surfer that clicks has to purchase something. With AdSense, your visitors just have to click the ads. They don't have to purchase a single thing.
Third, most people that use banner ads do not do a good job of matching the ads to the website's content so the click thru percentages are dismal.
With Google's AdSense, not only are you displaying text ads, (which tend to receive a much higher click-thru rate than banner ads), but you are displaying contextual ads that match your website's content....thanks to Google's advanced technology.
Lots of times people think the ads are part of your site's content so they click because the information is relevant to your site. Whereas with banner ads, they often have little relevance and people tend to ignore them no matter how much they flash and fly across the page
Creating Your Website for AdSense
Before you even begin your site, make sure you've come up with a topic that you feel you know plenty about. That way it will be easiest to write a lot of content.
The more content you have, the better chance you have getting accepted into the program. Also, the more content, the greater the earning potential. AdSense is nothing but a numbers game. If you want to make a lot of money, prepare to write a lot of content.
Now let's talk about building your website. There are two ways you can approach this:
1) Do it Yourself (DIY) from scratch
2) Use Site Build It! (SBI!)
The Do It Yourself Method
I've actually used both methods for building my site and there are advantages and disadvantages to both.
If you use the DIY method, you will have to go and register a domain name (yoursite.com) and then sign up for a web host and build your pages. You can either learn HTML or buy some kind of web editor like Microsoft FrontPage to build your pages. That's the method I used to build this site.
Averaging between $7 and $15 per month, the DIY method is usually the most cost friendly of the two but you are mostly on your own in terms of learning how to create your web pages and adding the AdSense code to your site.
Web hosts are generally there to house your site. They don't specialize in helping you market and optimize your site for the search engines to help you get traffic. So don't expect a lot from them in terms of helping you market your site.
This is not necessarily a bad thing. I had to learn how to build this site on my own and it wasn't very difficult.
How to Join AdSense
In late 2008, Google tightened up their acceptance policies. According to an email I received from someone who was trying to join the program, you now must meet the following criteria before you are accepted...
- Your website must be your own top-level domain (www.domain.com and not domain.com/mysite). That means you can't just sign up with a free blogger or free web hosting account and get approved for AdSense.
- Your domain name must have been registered and active for at least 6 months before you apply
- The registration information that you provide during the AdSense registration must match your domain name registration information
- Your website must contain a substantial amount of original content
Once you meet the above criteria, go to http://adsense.google.com to apply.
When you are accepted, simply copy and paste the provided HTML code into any page that you'd like to show the ads. If you've done a good job of defining the content on your web pages, the ads that show should be relevant to the content of your page...increasing the chances of click-thrus by your visitors.
You can either display the ads vertically along side the page like Google does or in a banner-like formation horizontally across your pages. The placement is up to you. You can even customize the colors to match your site's theme.
If Your Site Is Rejected by Google...
If you receive that email from Google stating that your site has not been accepted, the first thing you should remember is that as an AdSense member, you become a partner and are representing Google, Inc.
They have to make sure the websites that display these ads are up to par or they could run the risk of losing advertisers. Imagine if you were paying Google to display your ad and you found it showing up on a poorly developed, junky website.
Of course, if your site is rejected, it doesn't mean it is poorly developed. There may be other reasons:
1) Is your site an "About Me" page?
Google does not usually accept these kinds of personal sites because most of them do not have a specific topic or theme. They are usually just random facts about the website owner or their hobbies, pictures, etc.
It would be difficult for Google's technology to display targeted ads on these kinds of pages because the topics vary from subject to subject.
They are looking for "themed" sites that contain a generous amount of information on a specific topic. It could be anything from sewing tips to sports. Just make sure there is an obvious theme with adequate information.
2) Is your site organized?
Be sure your site has a neat and clean navigation that's easy to follow. Also ensure all the links work and that there are no typos. Keep the colors to a minimum and make sure each page has a consistent layout.
3) How many pages are on your site?
Even though Google doesn't specify a page number requirement, many believe they are looking for web sites with a certain amount of content. Again, it's not likely a two-page site will get accepted. Try to strive for at least 15 pages.
4) Is your content solid?
Don't just submit a website with a bunch of links to other sites. Be sure you have a themed/niche site with enough original content of your own.
5) Is your site an exact carbon copy of someone else's?
Some believe Google can find out if your site is original or not. Don't risk it and steal from someone else. It will come back to haunt you.
If you're stuck, write a few articles of your own and then go to sites like www.articlecity.com and sprinkle a few of their articles around your site to beef it up.
6) Be sure to read their program policy and procedures carefully and make sure your site hasn't violated any of the terms.
Tips on Succeeding With AdSense
Here are some tips for achieving success with AdSense.
1. Create a website with your (YourSite.com). Don't try to use a free web host because your site will likely have banners and pop-ups and get rejected because it looks unprofessional. Not to mention, a free web host will give you a website address like this:
http://thefreewebhost.com/yoursite/member1234/home.html
instead of...
http://www.yoursite.com
Thanks to the policies implemented in late 2008, AdSense no longer accepts sites created on free domains anyway. So may as well register your own domain.
2. If you don't know web programming or have no desire to learn it, get a beginner's design editor like Dreamweaver (what I use) or CoffeeCup. You can publish your content directly to the web from the software.
Keep in mind you can't use the software alone. You must have a web host that will allow you to publish your site to the Internet. (More on web hosting in a sec.)
3. If the main goal of your site is to make money with AdSense, be sure to choose a topic that you know a lot about so you can write lots and lots of content.
4. Get traffic. Once your site is up and running you'll need to learn how to get your site listed in the major search engines.
Getting into Google is completely free and can bring in hundreds or even thousands of visitors per day. All you have to do is submit your site to them and wait patiently while Google ads it to the index. It can take a few months. Patience is key with Google. Then do the same with Yahoo, MSN, etc.
Read up on how the search engines rank pages here.
And while you're waiting it's important you build up as much unique content around your theme as possible. Google loves large sites with useful content centered around a specific theme.
Don't create a hodgepodge site with topics on everything under the sun. Stay focused and make sure your site has an obvious theme.
5. Partner up with other related sites and participate in link swaps. This means that you place a link to another person's site on your own site and they do the same for you in return. This is a great way to get even more free traffic.
Paid emails are a good source of Internet cash flow that a lot of people happen not to be aware of. One could generate up to $400 monthly if the job is taken conscientiously.The Questions that night be bugging us are; why would companies pay for reading mails? what do they stand to gain? is it not another form of internet scam?Companies in the coporate world want to publicize and sell their products and services. To do this they need to create awareness and reach to a large number of people. Traffic providers could have helped them, but why indulge only traffic providers? why not indulge an incentive to their adverts, after all such will allow for many sales. So what do they do? Earning with paid online surveys
WHAT ARE SURVEYS?
Surveys are your opinion on subjects/topics through coupons, questionnaires e.t.c. Online surveys come in diverse forms and time limit. Some surveys come may take about 15-30 mins while others could take longer. The good thing about surveys is that it is extremely rewarding. You get paid, say $5 - $150 just for taking a survey that doesn't take nore than 30minsThe question that I am often asked when giving talks is "why do these people pay for giving out surveys?" "why dont they just answer the questions and claim the money themselves?Let me shock you now! These companies need you more than you need. They need you so much that they are ready to pay heavily , and they have vast amount of funds at their disposal. Big organizations that need a market for their product; feasibility studies; market trends; customer information and interest; etc pay huge sums of monies to these survey companies to carryout surveys on their behalf. The survey companies then pay you a commission for helping out. In the end, the advertising company, survey companies and you: gains. The advertising company's gains in that funds that would have been wasted in producing and marketing a product that would not have sold is saved. With the surveys, the advertising company is now able to narrow its products to a particular group of persons or community.
SIGNING UP
Signing up with a survey program is free. There exists, however some survey programs that demand for a fee before you may register with them. I DONT advise you to sign up with such survey programs that demand for a fee before you may register with them.To complete your registration, you must click on the link sent to the email address you registered with
Forex
FOREX
Forex is an acronym for foreign exchange. The currency trading (FOREX) market happens to be the biggest and fastest growing market on earth. Its daily turnover is said to be more than $2.5 trillion , which is 100times greater than the MASDAQ daily turner.
Forex is one of the latest crazes to sweep acrpss the world. Forex gives equal footing to everyone interested in it unlike the stock market which is often rated by those with inside knowledge, you can make good money. Forex is better experienced than read.
THE BIG QUESTION
Now, since it is unlike the stock market and we are not trading in companies, what is involved? Good! The Forex goods (or merchandise) are the curriencies of various countries. You buy Euro, paying with US dollars or you sell the japenese yeh for canadian dollars. That's all. Expert knowledge is not necessary and that is what makes FOREX fascinating. You can make thousands whether you are young or old.
MAKING PROFIT FROM FOREX
Making profit from Forex is very simple and obvious; buy cheap and sell for more! The profit is generated from the fluctuations( or changes) in the currency exchange market. The beauty about Forex market is that regular daily fluctuations, say around 1%, are multiplied by 100! That means that an immense sum of cash can be amassed.
If, for example, the exchange rate of "your" pair of curriencies increase by 0.6% in the last 4hrs, your profit will be 60% on your investment! Suchcan happen in a day, hours or in a matter of minutes.
Moreover, you may also experience a loss of more than your "margin". You may profit unlimited amount, but you never lose more than invested.
HOW TO START
The following steps are necessary to start trading Forex.
1. Open a FOREX account usinga recognized platform: You can use the northfinance platform which requires a minimum balance of $100 dollars for a mini account or you can use Marketiva platform which offers you a free deposit of $5 with which you may start trading with.
2. Fund your account
3. Read books on Forex and attend seminars in your respective cities. Dont start trading immediately as you can lose enormously as is often the case with eager traders and get discouraged.
The following platform's offer FOREX services;
1. http://www.northfinance.com/ - with demo account.
2. http://www.easyforex.com/ - no demo account.
3. http://www.marketiva.com/ - with demo account.
NOTE: A demo account allows you to engage in virtual trading as practice before beginning real trading . It is a training software/package. However, some platforms, discourage it, saying that it introduces recklessness in trading.
HOW TO TRADE
When you have studied and practiced enough and you are finally ready, you select the pair of currencies with which you wish to make a FOREX deal. You also determine the volume of the deal(i.e amount). You then deposit the "margin" (collateral necessary to facilitate the deal. Usually only a very small portion of the whole deal, say : 1% or 1:100).
Before you finally activate the deal,you may "freeze" it for a few seconds. This features is only available at some platforms. This enables you to either change the terms, or accept it as it is, or altogether reject the whole idea.
As you run your FOREX deal, you may monoitor its status and check scenarios online,whenever you wish. You may also change some terms in the deal, or close it. Ultimately, you remain in control, only you can decide when the time is right to cash in your profit.
